PQNDT, Inc., the nondestructive testing (NDT) industry’s leading personnel recruitment and placement organization, has published the results of their annual “NDT Salary & Benefits” survey. Complete results are available for download at http://www.pqndt.com/resources.html
For the first time the PQNDT survey collected data about layoffs and unemployment in the NDT industry.
“Because we gathered our data in 2010, while the country was still in a recession, we asked a series of supplemental questions about layoffs and unemployment in the NDT industry,” said Michael Serabian, president of PQNDT, Inc. “Overall, 7.5 percent of those surveyed had lost their jobs in the previous 12 months. While this is terrible news for those laid off, the rate remained below the national unemployment rate, which hovered around 10 percent for much of the year, and is still above 9 percent. Relatively speaking, NDT has been a fairly secure industry during these tough times.”
The PQNDT salary and benefits survey has been an important benchmark for the NDT industry since its inception in 1994. The survey provides a “snapshot” of compensation and benefits in the nondestructive testing field, and includes drill-down data by region, industry and NDT certification level.
For more than 40 years PNQDT has been the leader in both contract and permanent placement for the NDT industry. Employers and candidates in all industries have come to rely on PQNDT to help them “make quality connections.” The company’s NDT Salary & Benefits Survey has become an industry benchmark.
